Lee oversees all commercial and operating activities and business development for the company's largest region – NRG East – with almost 22,000 megawatts of generation capacity in 10 states. He leads NRG's efforts to maximize the value of existing units, repower generating sites with more efficient units, reduce fossil fuel emissions and build new cleaner energy resources.
Lee began his NRG career in 2006 as Vice President of New York Development and took on the expanded role of Vice President of Northeast Business Development in January 2010. Before taking on his current position, Lee served as a Vice President at Mirant Corporation and as Vice President of Strategic Origination at Calpine Corporation.
Lee has been sharing his passion for engineering and innovation since college, where he organized a group of volunteers to work with middle school students on fun projects to spark their interest in the fields of science, technology and engineering. At NRG, he sets the pace for his entire staff by constantly seeking new ways to create or add value for the East generation portfolio. Lee earned his bachelor's degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology and his MBA degree from Emory University.
