Work With NRG
We have a passion for innovation, are deeply committed to our customers and are setting the standard for energy providers across the nation. Living up to this commitment requires a diverse network of partners so that we can share in continued success.
We recognize that in the new energy economy, we must celebrate and leverage the unique attributes of the communities where we live and provide service. We are committed to working with suppliers that bring innovation and sustainable solutions to our organization. At NRG, we strive to maintain a position of leadership in supplier diversity among power generation companies. Our core values provide the basis for our business decisions and drive our commitment to diversity within our supply chain. We actively seek diverse business enterprises that can offer quality products and services on a competitive basis.
We ask that existing and interested suppliers live up to our STRIVE values and adhere to the same standards as NRG.
Safety, the S in STRIVE, is first at NRG. The safety of others on our sites is just as important to us as the safety of our employees. On-site contractors must demonstrate that they maintain a robust safety program and provide performance metrics before and during the project. All onsite contractors must adhere to the NRG Contractor Safety Procedure, which includes a zero tolerance rule for specific safety violations. When a contractor employee violates one of these rules, the contractor employee and/or Contractor will be asked to leave the site and cannot return for a minimum of 120 calendar days and then, not until the Contractor demonstrates to NRG that issues have been addressed.
Potential suppliers are invited to register in our Supplier Portal, view our Supplier Code of Conduct and receive information on our supplier diversity program. Also, read through our General Terms and Conditions for purchase including our Payment Terms notification. We believe supplier diversity is an important part of supply chain excellence, so we encourage all our suppliers to develop relationships with diverse suppliers.
Registration in our Supplier Portal allows both current and potential suppliers to provide up-to-date information about their companies. Current suppliers are encouraged to reference these NRG Invoicing Instructions in order to facilitate payment for services and materials.
GenOn separation and its affect on suppliers
As GenOn Energy, Inc. emerges from bankruptcy proceedings and separates from NRG Energy, Inc., it's important to clarify its affect, if any, on our suppliers. To do that, please reference this letter from our Vice President of Supply Chain.
