10 acres of reclaimed land in Jewett, TX, will supplement food pantries and provide fresh produce to an estimated 3,000 people near a known food desert. By working with sustainability focused partners like Texan by Nature, we are investing in our planet and providing healthy food in places where we operate.
Sustainable Land Management
We own more than 18,000 acres of undeveloped land and work with local communities to lease this land to farmers and ranchers at favorable rental rates. In return, these farmers and ranchers work to regenerate nutrients in the soil and preserve the area’s natural beauty.
Power2Serve
The Power2Serve® program, provided through our mobile power support vehicle, allows us to help communities when they need power the most. The 26-foot truck is equipped with solar and diesel generators and a custom canopy, all of which allow visitors to comfortably charge handheld devices, laptops, and more.
Earthshare
Reliant’s EcoShare program supports nonprofits across the state focused on building healthy and sustainable environments. Enrolled customers can add EcoShare to any Reliant electricity plan. It consists of small monthly payments used for EarthShare of Texas donations and carbon offset purchases. Over $2 million has been raised to support environmental stewardship.
