Remaining Connected

About

In the article, “Keeping The Lights On: How NRG’s CEO Mauricio Gutierrez Manages A Workforce Split Between The Field And Their Homes,” Mauricio discusses the process and approach that NRG has employed in preparing and protecting our workforce as we transitioned from business as usual to the current climate. As a company that serves as critical infrastructure—working hard to keep the lights on and our customers lives powered—the increasing threat of COVID-19 meant reimagining the ways our workforce could function and remain connected, despite being split between the field and working from home. Here’s how Mauricio explained our priorities: “The guiding principle from the outset was very clear. In order to fulfill our purpose and the social contract with our customers, we needed to protect the safety of our workers. If we could do that, we could continue providing this vital resource to the community.”

The value of customer-centricity

About

On September 16, Rob Gaudette, Senior Vice President of Business Solutions, joined Christopher Moyer of Zpryme for a discussion titled “The Future of Customer-Centricity,” as part of the annual Energy Thought Summit. As we continue our transition to a customer-focused company, Rob explored how C&I customers demand for clean, affordable, and efficient energy solutions has become a key driver of our business and our strategy moving forward. “We know that energy is one of the few ubiquitous things in our modern lives – but this is not the energy landscape of yesterday. Consumers no longer want to be provided just a commodity. The engaged energy customer wants a partner that is constantly shaping their energy experience to specific needs and goals, and that is what we are doing at NRG.” Our customers are inspiring us to develop new and innovative approaches, to provide products and services that both serve their needs and aspirations, and are leading the way toward a sustainable energy transition.
