Speakers

John Holtz – Senior Director, Market Development and Regulatory Affairs, NRG Energy, Inc.

 

John Holtz leads the charge in expanding competitive retail energy markets across the Midwest and Eastern U.S. John’s responsibilities extend to state regulatory compliance and the support of business development and operations for eight NRG retail companies in the Midwest, Northeast, and Mid-Atlantic regions. With nearly four decades of experience in public policy, John is deeply knowledgeable about energy, environmental, and consumer protection matters. He has held positions in both the legislative and executive branches of the New Jersey state government and was a member of the Governor’s Consumer Protection Advisory Council. His private sector experience includes roles at the American Petroleum Institute and New Jersey-American Water Company. John's journey in the energy sector began in 1998 with Green Mountain Energy Company, where he opened new markets and managed successful business units in Florida and New York. Today, he also shares his expertise as a guest lecturer on energy restructuring policy at Rutgers University.

Chris Dubay – Energy Strategist, Strategic Client Services (New England), NRG Energy, Inc

 

Chris has nearly 40 years experience in the energy industry, working with companies such as First Energy, Equitable Resources, Select Energy, and NYSEG Solutions/Energetix. With these companies, he gained knowledge of both the regulated and unregulated sides of the business, generation management, wholesale trading, and electric and natural gas retail energy marketing. He brough these skills to Direct Energy in November of 2008, working in their Binghamton, NY, office as the manager of electric supply operations. Later, he moved to Pittsburgh to join the Market Intelligence team as a Senior Analyst.  In 2014, Chris joined the Key Client Services team as an Energy Strategist.  There, he stays on top of the New England energy markets, supporting NRG’s managed product customers and sales teams by providing current market information and pricing signals to optimize the benefits to NRG’s commercial and industrial customers.

Hans Rottmann - Senior Manager, Technical Sales East, NRG Energy, Inc.

 

Hans leads a team that works with sales representatives to offer energy solutions to customers. The solutions include complex retail gas and electric products, renewable services, and demand side capabilities. Hans has over 30 years of experience in the wholesale and retail energy markets, including working with some of Direct Energy’s largest key customers to develop and implement energy procurement strategies. Hans came to NRG via the recent acquisition of Direct Energy, where he started in 2000. Hans received both his Bachelor of Science in Accounting, cum laude, and his Master of Business Administration from the University of Buffalo.

Sharon Dupuis - Sales Manager, New England, NRG Energy, Inc.

 

Native to the New England region Sharon is from Connecticut and has over 33 years of energy industry experience in sales and pricing. Before joining NRG 16 years ago, she worked with both Yankee Gas and Select Energy. Her daily focus is coaching her team on successful sales techniques and customer support and maximizing NRG’s book of business and speed to market.
