Q1 Earnings shows resiliency and stability of our Integrated Model

On May 15, S&P Global published an article titled “Strong Q1 results bolster NRG, Vistra integrated strategy,” which discussed the strength exhibited in our first quarter earnings. As many companies were impacted by COVID-19, NRG was featured as a high performer amidst the uncertainty. The key differentiator between NRG and traditional IPPs, the article suggests, was the adoption of a model that established a balance between the retail customer base and generation portfolio. S&P Global suggests that Q1 was a strong proof point for the stability and resiliency of the integrated model.

For many municipalities and businesses looking to complete an energy transition, we are providing solutions for renewable energy adoption that are feasible, affordable, and logistically reasonable. Gaudette explains, “We’re getting pricing that is at or better than market prices. When we have customers who are willing to sign up long term, like in this case, then we can pass along some of that savings on to the customer.”
