Senior Director, Regional Natural Gas Operations, NRG Energy, Inc.

Alyssa Rubin serves as Senior Director of Regional Natural Gas Operations at NRG Energy, where she oversees retail pricing and the end‑to‑end delivery of natural gas to commercial, industrial, small business, and residential customers across North America. In this role, she leads a highly specialized team that partners with more than 100 utility companies in the United States and Canada to ensure the reliable and cost‑competitive delivery of natural gas to utility city gates on behalf of NRG’s customers.

In addition to her operational responsibilities, Alyssa leads a cross‑functional Talent Committee comprised of senior leaders representing ten NRG business units. Working closely with NRG’s Talent teams, the committee advances a cohesive and sustainable approach to leadership development and succession planning across the enterprise. Under Alyssa’s leadership, the organization has strengthened its focus on talent development and established robust, actionable succession plans to support long‑term leadership continuity.

Alyssa brings more than 25 years of experience in the energy industry, having held senior roles spanning Regulatory Affairs, Operations, Process Excellence, and Marketing. Her career includes leadership positions at Hess Corporation and Direct Energy. Earlier in her career, Alyssa served as Executive Director of the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities and as Policy Advisor to New Jersey Governor Christine Todd Whitman.

Alyssa holds Bachelor of Arts degrees in Political Science and French from the State University of New York at Binghamton, a Master of Science in Public Policy from the Eagleton Institute of Politics at Rutgers University, and a Master of Business Administration from the Leonard N. Stern School of Business at New York University.
